Great Software.

one nice feature to ass would be to have an option to have a "border" show on the map for any ploygon that is created, the gps''s some times do not show a clean border between polygons

Спасибо за увеличеный GPS указатель. Пока не проверил, но уверен, что это то, что нужно.

Great sofware!
Do you expect to implement support for BlueChart marine object types?

MapEdit хорошая программа, но у меня возник вопрос почему при объединении нескольких карт для Ozi происходит значительное ухудшение качества изображения карты (растровые карты в формате BMP).

Good program, MapEdit. However, I would appreciate it very much if the program should also supprt conversion from RD (Dutch) to WGS84. It would be a nice option to make addition of new datums/projections flexible (as for instance is the case with DNRGarmin).

I like the program but I can not find a Help file for the program. So it seems that I am not using many features available in it!!

Good Work!! MapEdit is a great program. Howewver we''re waiting ansiously for save directly to IMG format without the need of cgpsmapper. This way we can have auto-routing in our devices.

Thanl you very much!

GPSMapEdit is very good software, but, we need some more possibilities to edit nodes properties and make better routable maps. These are our major needs.

i commend you guys for making such great software!
I just had my successful upload to my Garmin Etex Legend.
However, I am wondering if I could add more zoom options. My maps are only allowed to be zoomed up to 800meters in the GPS. I zoom in as small as 20meters. Is this possible? Looking forward for any help on this. thanks a lot and more power!!

Все ОК !!!
А есть возможность добавить опцию отображения узловых точек ( очень поможет контролировать дороги для Автороутинга ) ?

You''ve done a great job! Very handy software! I will use this software from now on.

I have one question though: how to add street number? I think this issue relates to edit nodes, add node id or what? I have little idea though.

Achillis

I would like to know if you are planning to add to Map Edit the new GPSmapper''''s marine features?

I understand that it is a very hard work for you, but it is very complicated for us to use the GPSmapper without the MapEdit.

Marcelo

Hello.
This is very good software, but, we need some more possibilities, like: splitting polygons, possibility of configuration of grid and snap to nodes. These are our major needs.

Another remark on your beautiful GPSMapedit:
It would be very nice when your program could be used directly with maps which are calibrated in OziExplorer with a Dutch grid. I learned that at present the Dutch grid background maps are presented in GPSmapedit a few hundred meters North of where they should be.

regards,
Alfred

Thanks very much for your wonderful work (Mapedit).

The only difficult part for me is to discern the “fine lines” that the program uses to adde roads etc. against the background of an attached topgraphical (Dutch) map. It would be a lot easier when the thickness and/or color of these lines could be selected by the user (temporarily for the MP files only). With GPSTrackmaker the lines of the added tracks are a lot easier to discern against these backgrounds. I hope that this feature can be added in one of your next versions.

Another improvement would be to make these own created maps routable, but I have seen that you/ others are working on this issue.

In addition another remark which is related to your files for your information: This remark should probably be better directed to Microsoft, but you nerver get hardly any decent response from them and their help is less than optimal (understatement).

Yesterday, one of my programs (Mapsource) was not running anymore, complaining about a problem in the register. Reinstalling Mapsource did not help, so I used "System recovery". To my surprize all my recent MP-files, which I had created by GPSMAP were removed. They disappeared completely! The same happened to recent Mapsource *.gdb files. I could only recover them by switiching back to the most recent “System recovery mark” and to copy these files to an other computer. Copying them to another subdir resulted again in a removal ,when swithing back to an older mark (which was necessary to recover Mapsource). Futher investigation learned me that the MP-files, created by GPSMAP, were renamed by WindowsXP into numbered files (eg. A0124653.mp) and stored in one of the subdirs of the file System Volume Information (which is difficult – but possible - to access under NTFS, but easily under FAT).

Hi, thank you very much for MepEdit. It is a very handy program. I use it to open maps from www.tracks4africa.co.za.

One feature that we are missing though: We would like be able to use both mapedit and gpstrackmaker, but there is not a format that is supported by both. Trackmaker has got functionality to create routes etc. so it would be great to import those routes into mapedit. If you could add opening of .grm (example) files this would be possible!

Thanks for this Software,I use freeware-version. Question: I have created my own map with a area"Golfcourse" Type 0x0018. In MAPEDIT it looks very nice red-white stipes. After export with cgpsmapper.exe and uploud to a GARMIN GPSMAP60, on the unit are no stripes! but only a normal background. What have i to do,to become a red-white stripes GOLFCOURSE on the GPSMAP60?
